For Undergraduate Program
The minimum qualifications for admission into the BS in Economics program are:
Bangladeshi Students
- A CGPA of 2.50 or better in SSC and HSC preferably with science or with mathematics/statistics.
- University of London GCE “O” level with minimum five subjects including Mathematics and “A” level with two subjects.
- Acceptable score in university admission test.
- Students who have completed a two-year Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university can apply for admission into the four–year undergraduate program in economics.
International Students
- Have successfully completed their higher secondary education (12 years of schooling)
- At least 50% marks or an equivalent grade of their own education system.
- O-level students must have completed a minimum of 5 subjects with Average Grade Point of 2.50 or above and A-level students a minimum of 2 subjects with Average Grade Point of 2.00 or above (scale A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1)
- If the applicant’s previous medium of instruction is not English, TOEFL/IELTS scores are required.
For Graduate Program
Master of Science in Economics
Bangladeshi Students
- Have a bachelor degree in Economics or have completed the following undergraduate courses from a reputed university: Microeconomics, macroeconomics, mathematical economics, statistics for economists, econometrics, and at least 6 credits of 300/400 level courses in economics.
- Must pass the university admission test.
Master in Development Studies
Applicants with at least two year’s experience in a public, private or NGO sector program/project shall get priority in admission.
International Students
- Undergraduate degree from a recognized university with a GPA of 2.00 or above in a scale of 4.0
- If the applicant’s previous medium of instruction is not English, TOEFL/IELTS scores are required.
